Product classification
A molten iron analyzer is a specialized rapid-testing instrument used at the melting floor in the foundry industry. It is employed before molten iron is tapped from the furnace to quickly determine carbon and silicon content as well as carbon equivalent (CE); some models can also measure manganese, phosphorus, and sulfur. It guides charge calculation and adjustment of molten iron composition, helping prevent casting defects such as gas porosity, white-iron structure (chilling), shrinkage porosity, and excessive hardness. It is an essential furnace-front quality control device for every foundry.
